Scholarships
Each year the Foundation awards four scholarships to worthy applicants. This year we were able to provide academic awards of 2000 dollars to each winner to help with educational cost. The scholarships are awarded at our annual fundraising event which provides an opportunity to meet the winners and gather with family and friends of the Foundation. The Vietnam Conflict
This fall we are honoring the brave men and women of the United States Military who served in Vietnam. Our series will include speakers on every major branch of the service on a different evening. Speakers will discuss the role of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard as well as the Nurses who served during the conflict.
The Lectures will begin on Mondays at 6:00pm at the museum located at 1346 Bluff Street, Muskegon, Michigan. If you are unable to attend in person, please contact Teresa Folkmier at tfolkmier@silversidesmuseum.org for the zoom link.

The Bertsch Foundation currently helps to sponsor a lecture series through the USS Silversides Museum. After sponsoring a successful lectureship series in the fall, the foundation helped to sponsor an ongoing lecture series focusing on the Post Vietnam Era to 9/11.

As the Spring 2021 Lecture Series drew to a close last night; I just wanted reach out and say thank you. You family’s kind and generous donation to the USS Silversides Submarine Museum made it all possible. The Foundation helped the Museum fulfill its mission of honoring our veterans through education. Each lecture, whether attended via zoom or viewed later on you YouTube channel brought a new group of people knowledge of the sacrifices of our Veterans.
